FAQ & Services

F.A.Q.

The best place to start is with an initial consultation, either in person or virtually.  This appointment takes 1.5hrs and allows me to get to know you as a person in order to come up with the best treatment plan possible.

Read more about what you can expect below, under ‘initial consult’.

A naturopathic doctor’s toolkit is very extensive! Depending on your health complaint(s) and personal preferences, one or more of the following may be recommended: supplements, acupuncture, exercise therapeutics, nutritional counselling, mental/emotional counselling, and/or physical therapy.

Well first of all, even as a trained professional, supplement shops/aisles at grocery stores feel overwhelming!  The options are truly endless between brands and types of vitamins, minerals, herbs, etc.  Instead of the shotgun multivitamin-for-all approach, a ND will help you find the exact supplement that may be most helpful to you based on your specific health concern.  On a final note, supplement quality is important and therefore most ND’s have their own dispensary in order to ensure quality and safety for their patients.

There are several differentiating features between ND’s.  The main one being what services we are able to provide.  Although there are no “specialists” among ND’s, we will each provide services and do continuing education courses in the areas we, as individuals, are most interested in.  So while one ND may focus on cosmetics, offering facial rejuvenation treatments and selling skin care products, another may offer IV’s and prolotherapy.  It all depends on how much extra training the particular ND has done in terms of what we have to offer.  Another thing to consider when looking for a ND is personality.  Working with someone who you feel comfortable with will make a difference, especially if you plan on being their patient for life!

Currently, I am not certified in performing injection therapies (ex. IV or prolo) and/or have prescribing authority.

Book a free 15min meet & greet, no strings attached!  You can connect with me online or in person at my clinic which is located in a crossfit gym in South Surrey.

Initial consult

duration: 75min
fee: $235

Let me get to know your entire health history!  As naturopathic doctors we have the privilege to spend an extended period of time with our patients.  I will ask you questions regarding every system of your body including digestion, cardiac, respiratory, central nervous system, musculoskeletal, etc.  I’ll ask about your diet, sleep, stress, relationships, energy levels.  These are all pieces to the greater puzzle that is your health.  By the end of the appointment, based on your chief complaint(s), an appropriate treatment plan will be given.  In the case a physical exam is warranted, an in person follow-up will be requested.  Lastly, referral to another healthcare practitioner for imaging or blood work will be made if necessary.

All new patients are required to complete an initial consult in order to get the best care possible.  Follow-up visit fees will vary depending on the treatment plan.  See below for other services.

Virtual initial consult is available

Follow-up Acupuncture

duration: 45min
fee: $125

Based in the principles of eastern medicine, also referred to as traditional asian medicine (TAM), an acupuncture protocol is established.  In order to determine the right protocol, a TAM diagnosis is made by asking more questions, examining your tongue, and analyzing your pulse.  An initial consult is required before starting an acupuncture protocol to ensure a proper protocol is established.  Following the 90min initial consult, acupuncture sessions are 50min in duration.  It is recommended that a minimum of 4-5 sessions are had in order to achieve maximal benefit.

Follow-up Physical therapy

duration: 45min
fee: $125

Wether you are a committed athlete, weekend warrior, or someone who works a sedentary desk job, bodily pain is a common denominator.  Naturopathic doctors are trained to perform orthopaedic assessment in order to make a diagnosis and, ultimately, to provide effective treatment.  My tools include deep tissue massage, cupping, pin and stretch, acupuncture with electric stimulation (e-stim), and spinal adjustments.

follow-up exercise therapeutics

duration: 45min
fee: $125

I personally put a lot of emphasis on exercise because I believe movement is the key to unlocking your body and mind.  Conveniently located within a gym, we have access to rehab equipment and space to move around.

For athletes, injury prevention is the gold standard, but the reality is that I will likely be treating you after you’ve had an injury.  In addition to the hands on physical therapy, I can provide rehab exercises to get to back to your sport and keep you playing longer!

If you’re new to exercise and want to learn how to train your body properly I can help get you started!

Follow-up Counselling

duration: 45min
fee: $125

While most of my highlighted services focus on the physical body, whole person healing includes mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.  As your naturopathic doctor I can offer a safe, judgement free space to talk about how you are feeling.  I can help address issues such as anxiety, depression, disordered eating, body image distortion, and much more.

If you’ve read through all my services you can tell that a ND has a wide range of training.  Having said that, I will remain very mindful of the fact that some topics will fall outside my scope of practice and in that case an appropriate referral will be made.  In any case, my job is to help you achieve better health whether that is with me or another practitioner!
